Cravings

So, I thought this was a good topic today, seeing as how Easter is over now. :) Did you crave anything? And if so, what? I've just started on the Paleo Journey and I have found it really difficult for me to stay away from potatoes. I desperately want to find something to replace them, yet nothing satisfies or tastes like potatoes.

How do you get over your cravings?

I read an article just yesterday that said cravings are all in your mind. But I have also been told that you crave things that your body needs. Which is correct?

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday!

Hunt. Gather. Cook. EAT!

  1. Cravings for starchy foods are the result of actual withdrawals when you cut out carbs or sugar. One person might crave sweets, another bread....but its the same thing. The only way to get over it, is strictly not ever eating it. Sometimes you will still crave it later....that part is an emotional thing. Its a matter of letting go...its like withdrawing from heroin and staying clean but emotionally still wanting it (I know because I did it). Then when the emotional part of it is gone, you are FREE. You don't need potatoes at all, there's nothing in them you can't get from other things.
